Beauford, started a dynamic saxophone duo known as SAX-O-PEAL.  They spent the next seven years performing in and winning local and statewide talent shows in South Carolina and Virginia.  In 1988, their junior year in high school, the two were also a part of another group called Talent Unlimited.

During his senior year(1994) at Hampton University (Hampton, VA), Joseph's solo career not only began, but soared. He performed for weddings, banquets, and churches across the east coast. He also become a five-time winner of the Fountain Bleau Night Club weekly talent show, hosted by WWDM FM 101.3 (Columbia, SC), and was a special guest artist at the Black Male Showcase - USA Image Awards.  Also during that summer, he performed the National Anthem at a Memorial Day program in Florence, SC.

In 1995, Joseph performed in Orlando, Florida at the 89th General Convention of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.  He also was a guest artist for the Youth Choir Anniversary concerts at White Oak Grove Baptist Church (Greensboro, NC) and Little Zion Baptist Church (Columbia, SC).

In 1996, he entered the recording studio for the first time and recorded his first demo album.  The title track, "In Search Of", was co-written by Joseph.  Other songs recorded include renditions of Brian McKnight's - "One Last Cry", The Spinners’ – “I’ll Be Around”, and Janet Jackson's - "That's the Way Love Goes".

Joseph continues to perform for corporate functions, reunions, conventions, church events, and more. He plans to beginning working on a gospel jazz album, as well as a R&B and smooth jazz album in the coming years.
